Grenada is a beach lover's dream, with dozens of sandy strips carved into the island's irregular coastline. Grenada beaches aren't just numerous but soft as well, mostly consisting of powdered white coral stone. Even the black sand beaches are soft and inviting. The best Grenada beaches can be found in the southwest portion of the island, where sheltered coves and brilliant white sand combine to make for a dreamlike scenario. The most famous of these Grande Anse, a two-mile stretch of lapping waters and palm-shaded sand. Grenada beaches don't get much better than this, though you might want to head elsewhere if you prefer solitude. There is no shortage of nearly deserted Grenada beaches either - just south of Grande Anse lies Morne Rouge, equally gorgeous though less busy than the former. Morne Rouge is also one of the Grenada beaches to hit if you like snorkeling. In contrast, Pearl's Beach on the Atlantic Coast is grey sand and fronts turbulent waters, but you're unlikely to encounter another soul on this and many other Grenada beaches on the Atlantic.
